Cattle & Cane

Joel Baker, 22 year old from Nottingham, blazed his way onto the London circuit with his hip hop covers of Kendrick Lamar & Kanye West. 3 support tours, including Saint Raymond & Ella Eyre, and 2 million Spotify streams later, Joel is back in his own lane. Working in Brooklyn, with hit producer Ido, Joel has created a new world of storytelling and vulnerability.

Speaking on the unique sound Joel said "it lets me poke fun at myself, tell stories, and ultimately push music somewhere new. As always, I just want to write songs people relate to".

Having recently been featured on the Lvndscape single ‘Speeches’ which reached #4 in the Deep House chart on Sound Cloud and appeared top 10 in the Spotify Viral 50 chart in the UK, US, Germany and Netherlands, Joel has begun to make even more waves on the scene.

The end of 2015 has seen the release of his Mix tape, ‘Bran Flakes Vol 1’ which was premiered on SBTV with over 1,000 page views in the first week and had huge support on social networks from sites like Content Dope and Hip Hop Zilla. With more to come in 2016, Joel will continue to release new bodies of work including his second mix tape, ‘Bran Flakes Vol 2’, followed by a full EP.

Following a sold out show at The Bodega in Nottingham, Joel’s live scene will only continue to grow with an intimate headline show at Servants Jazz Quarters in Dalston, as well as other reputable London venues in the coming months.
